Our Community. Our Culture.

The spirit of philanthropy is deeply imbedded in the culture of Heide & Cook. We're proud of our many projects and the employees' volunteerism .  Our employees have responded positively to our charitable giving, with their time and talent and also financially.

Since the early days of our company, our giving has had a focus on education.  We have for many years sponsored four scholarships at the Univeristy of Hawaii, two of them in the field of engineering.  We have been involved with local elementary schools, donating backpacks full of school supplies annually to two school most in need who are located near our headquarters.  We have an ongoing relationship with Palama Settlement.

Corporate giving is critical in every community, and we want to continue to be leaders in this area in our industry, and in our community.  Wherever we can, we incorporate giving in what we do.  One of our most popular (among employees and their families) philanthropic efforts is our annual Christmas Party -- where an abundant silent auction promotes friendly competition among the employees --- because they know that 100% of the money raised willl be matched by Heide & Cook and given to selected charities each year.

As a Native Hawaiian-owned kama'aina company, we are working on focusing future giving efforts on the children of Hawaii and the land.  As innovators in our own field, we want to support growth and innovation in our state, as well as to be stewards of the land and our future.
